Default looking for a good lipo multicharger....

Im looking for a multicharger (4 batteries on one charger) that can do lipo/life/NiMH/AA and be able to charge a 4S at 6 amps. I see HK has one, Thunder has one, and HiTec has one. Which one can handle 5ams to each charge port to each Lipo when charging? Also what Powersupply would you guys reccomend?

The 4S is going to be prob - 6 amps it will require ~100watts and these 4 port chargers are just 50watts per port (HK Quattro 4x6, HK 4B6 and HK EC0 4x6). The Hitec x4 is also just 50watts as is the Thunder T6 charger.

These chargers will charger a 4S - they are rated to 6S, but they will reduce charging rate to stay under their power output limit. Depending on the 4S voltage you'll see less than their max charge rate. If the voltage is 14v, the charge rate will be ~3.6amps. As the voltage increases during the charge, the current will be reduced accordingly.

If you can make do with a dual charger, those are available that have 200watts per port and have a 10amp max rate. There are 3 out right now but they appear to be re-badged SkyRC chargers - Hitec X2, Protec 610 and Venom 2-10 dual chargers.

ya a dual charger would work good.....thanks for the advice. Im going to look up the the venom 2-10 charger. Any advice for a good(affordable) power supply that would work for the Hitec X2/Venom 2-10/ Protec 610?

You should consider the Hitec version of that duo charger. After Tower coupon it is not much more than the Venom version. Hitec has a much, much better warranty and reputation than Venom.

If you're going to want to use it at full power, you'd need ~500watt PS. The extra is for the charger's inefficiency. If you will only charge 1 4S at 6amps and say a 2S at 10amps, they you'd need a PS with ~225watts. I'd consider this one -

It would let you do a lot more than a 4S at 6amps and is not that expensive.

If you're planning to get the Venom 2-10 or the other similar chargers, I'd suggest one that is 25Amps, 350Watts. I have found when running a 20A PS, that it pushes them too hard if you're maxing out the capabilities of the charger.

If you are trying to charge identical packs this might be a solution for you to charge @ max amperage......

Hyperion 0730i (30a / 550w) + Parallel Charging Board (Replace connectors with what you use or build adapter cables) + Feathermerchant 24v Power Supply
