The hesitating or stuttering (which is usually called cogging), is usually due to the battery not being able to supply enough starting current to get it moving.

What batteries are you running?

Yea, thats prob. it. Are you running AM aswell? Check out Hobbypartz. You can pick up a Sky lipo 4000mAh 20c for $18. The 4000/20c is a bit on the low side, but will work perfectly fine and ALOT better than your Nimh pack. You can get 2.4's for $19 and if you have a DC supply you can get a charger for $23 or if you dont then $43 for AC/DC supplied charger

Ive use/used the Skylipos, Blue lipos and Gens Ace. There all great packs! I have been using the $23 Dynam charger for well over 6 months. It a great charger with all the features. Great charger.
I also use the Fly Sky 2ch radio seen on the page. I have now bought 4 RX's and Ive been using the TX and RX's for a good while too. Great basic, cheap but excellent range. Never gave me any problems. But these will all help your Exceleron perform up to par.

thank you for the links. I have a few small lipo packs and had someone charge them for me and it makes a huge difference. I want to get a few larger ones though.
