Yeah, you're right, I was just reading up their website and talking with a buddy of mine who's more into computer tech. than radio tech, but who knows a hell of a lot more of it than I do, and DSM tech is amazing stuff. PCM is actually 'old technology', so all of us who likes the ' latest and greatest', are going to be stoked over all of this. No more channel switching, plus the module does all the work, MAN, I'm all for that!! The only thing I'd like to know is, how many receiver's can the module 'bond' with.

It should work like a cellphone or beeper, each reciever has it's own unique cap code... You program your reciever's specific cap code into the transmiter and off you go....

I'm looking into getting a 3PK but have a question.
There is no feature built in to the 3PK to adjust the throttle/brake throw like in the 3PJ's (50:50 or 70:30). The 3PK defauls to 50:50 and there is no other option. Futaba claims that most newer ESC's control the throw. I looked at the setup instructions for the Quantum Comp & the GT7 and good ole Cyclones and it says to set the throw to 70:30 before set-up.

I accidentally had my 3PJ set to 50:50 for my electric buggy and the throttle response was way too much so i'm worried about getting the 3PK. 50:50 is fine for 1/12th & gas & TC but not electric offroad.

For you 3PK owners running electric offroad: Do you find the throttle response linear or does it GO at the slightest throttle movement?

Thx,
John

You would just use your EXP setting to take out some of the response. I have always used 50:50 on all my radios.

I have no problems with my radio... I have it set up for my TC's, ST's, motorcycles, MT's and 5th scale... Handles all of them very well....

Default A couple 3PK questions

I need to get a radio now, so waiting for upcoming stuff isn't in the cards. I'm VERY interested in "going synthesis" but the module isn't available for a while yet.

If I get the FM 75MHz (and plan to get the Synth. module when it's available) will I be able to use the Novak Synth. receivers for now provided I set them to the freq the transmitter comes with?

Is the Novak receiver "digital" enabled?

Is "digital" capability really a noticeable benefit?

How 'bout a recommendation for digital servos? I'll be doing 1/12 pan (CRC Carpet Knives) and 1/10 TC TC3) on carpet.

Many thanks,

Scottrik

I have 5 Novaks and 3 TX Crystals... Yes....

If you don't mind the added amp draw and buzzing digital servo's are great.... They will always center, hence the buzzing....

I'm using the Futaba S9550's in my cars... It's a little shorter than a standard servo... With chassis getting as cramped as they are you need all the room you can get....

Default 3PK-Novak Synthesized

So the Novak receiver will operate the digital servos and enable the DCS(?) capability of the radio?

Many thanks,

I don't understand what you're getting at? DSC is for directly connecting without transmitting....

I mis-spoke.

Is the Novak synthesized receiver capable of running digital servos AS digital servos?

Does it run at the "advanced" rate (not sure what the acronym for that was)?

If you are talking about HRS mode then no... Only Futaba HRS recievers will run in that mode... Although you may find that there are ECS's that will not work with HRS....

I basically run nothing but synthesized novaks... I have a few normal FM's in my bashing mobiles... I also run PCM in my 5th scale....
