Default Fried ESC from pluging it in wrong to esc?

Well I've got 2 ezrun 35a escs on my emaxx running 2 10t mortors on a Y harness to the esc. Well I was finishing up assembly and I accidentally plugged the Y harness into the steering port on the receiver and It smoked one of the escs when I tested the steering (because I hand no throttle). Now I have bec but no motor. Guessing I fried the mosfets?

Just wondering if this is well known and I'm an idiot or if its problem with the esc.

Also on a side note I've had problems with one motor over heating and the other not working. I was running a parallel power cable and the same battery's. Any idea.

Thanks, Janke
