Have any of you had issues with your motors cogging at low throttle inputs? I have changed the sensor wire and ESCs, but the issue persists.

Thanks for the breakdown. So what makes the versions different from each other? Is it faster than D3.5 Magzilla?

I know your can tell the different motors by their end bells. I'm not 1000% sure if the internals are the same. You can see the 3x 3mm screws are covered by the timing plate in the V1 version.

V1 motor -

V2 motor -

The question of "is it faster than an illegal motor"? I'll leave that one up to you to determine. I can say it is one of the faster legal motors available.

No issues here. I have ran lower drive frequencies with the motor and have not found any cogging effect.

Perhaps the sensor board has failed.

I've used two sensor boards and rotors.

Do you think ESC punch control could have something to do with it? This is just odd to me.

What ESC?

If you know someone with the Team Powers Motor unit they can check to see if the motor is active on all phases of the sensor board while installed. If not and the ESC supports it - increase the drive frequency of the ESC. You could try decreasing the punch control but in my experience punch had less of an effect on causing a cog.

Does it cog with both of those?

Yes, both ESCs. I'll try a few more things to try to get it figured out.

Nothing is happening when I rotate the timing ring.

Pretty much told me it was the sensor wire. All is well now.

No. I haven't seen this. My experience is with the Tekin and the Team Powers speedos. Currently I am using our 140A version 1.2 speedo and it has not shown a sign of cogging. I also have the timing cranked!

I was told one of the rule changes was that the motor stack had to be exposed when the motor is dissassembled. The current V2 design did not take that change into consideration. It was designed before the new rule changes and will not be submitted to ROAR for approval.

Still chasing your damn Awesomatix cars here...LOL

I don't understand, does this mean it cogs no matter what the timing is? Or something else?
