Reduce your boost and gear up, the Powers doesn't like too much boost but doesn't mind a big pinion.

Just wanted to say I've had really good success lately with a v2 17.5 with a HT rotor in blinky against local guys with d3.5s. I'm geared at 3.88 on a medium sized carpet track with timing at about 2.5/4 and the motor kicks like a donkey outta corners and screams down the straight.

Currently, ive gone .3 faster than any other stock guy and my fast lap is equal to a couple of mod guys' fast lap. The best part is it only comes off at 130! Blisteringly fast and runs cool? Seems like the perfect motor!

as you suggest, I currently use fdr 5 and was looking for a proper boost and turbo setting

Bit of an old post but which rotor were you using dale?

We found the exact opposite with the standard rotor.

Start about 3.7fdr.

Art

Oh, and leave the timing on 4.

Thanks Art. I have my old 'tricks' from the Plutonium that I might start with first...

The v2 Plutonium looks almost the exact same as the Actinium. Any of you guys know the major changes between the two?

It's ROAR approved, has a smoother power band, better braking, and sample variation has been greatly reduced.

This is another solid spec motor.

Standard rotor. Fastest setup I found was max endbell timing, about 50 steps/degrees of ESC boost and 5.9FDR. This was on a mid-size outdoor track (WLRC in the UK). I did try more boost and a higher FDR, but it was slower over a lap and had more heat/dropoff.

Be careful Mike. It has a completely different stator and comes with a 12.5 rotor standard. Old tricks may not apply...

The can has been modified to meet ROAR rules, the stator is a little thicker and the wire is a little bigger. Also this motor comes with the 12.5 rotor as standard.

Not sure what rotor came in the V2 as it was never submitted to ROAR for approval and was never brought into the US by the Distributor.
