What do you set for:

dual rate
epa(end point adjustment)
steering exponential
servo speed (forward/return)

for 8th scale buggy?

Weird question.
EPA is a must in all channels where servo exist.
Expo - i'm using one on my ebuggy' brake channel to achieve desired feel
D/R useful to calm down oversteer, i'm using it on both buggies

Might sound stupid but I was wondering if you could use a micro air receiver on the mt4? I want to use it on my crawler so range is not an issue.

You will loose sight of your vehicle before you loose range with the standard RX/TX in my opinion.

I'm not concerned about range. I'm only ever 20' away from the crawler. My reasoning is the size, weight, and cost of the micro air receiver would fit my needs best if it compatible with the mt4.

Understood, I read that as you were concerned with range

The stock receiver is very small and practically weightless. I can't answer the air questions unfortunately.

This is about as small as I've seen:

Most (all?) radios air/surface systems don't communicate with each other. Maybe check airtronics website and see if it mentions that on the receivers page. Pretty sure they are still in California with a phone number too. Best to make sure before you buy.

An example from one of their air receivers, if I'm not mistaken those are both air transmitters...
The RX600 (92224) 6-Channel 2.4GHz FHSS-1 Mini Receiver is an affordable full-range receiver that is compatible with Airtronics RDS and SD series transmitters

Have you looked into the 92524 3 channel receiver which is an FSSH2 type receiver? I have one and use it with my MT4 and it works flawlessly! If you can find one I noticed they where out of stock at Hobby People and Airtronics but they run about 49 bucks.

This is the same receiver that another poster just put on here. Check out your local hobby shop. I saw one today at one that I was running my car at today!

Has anyone used the RX-462 receiver with external voltage sensor to monitor a 4S setup? I have blown the inline fuse of my sensor three times now and two of them just by connecting the main battery cable, didn't even run the motor.

I think the fuse blows by the large inrush current when connecting the batteries but it's strange they would design the system to not be able to handle that.

Have anyone tried bypassing the fuse or replacing it with another?

Never had an issue and doing it on two different vehicles.

And your setup is just like in the manual, connect the sensor wire (with fuse) to battery positive?

What ESC:s are you using? forgot to mention that in my last post, I use Hobbywing XERUN 150A and have connected the sensor wire to the ON/OFF switch which has a direct connection with battery positive inside the ESC so I can't see that makes any difference either.
