Different Spektrum DX3S Different Binding Results

I have two Spektrum DX3S transmitters, one will bind with my M2000 boat receiver and the other will not. Any ideas what the issue might be?

How old are they ?

The early DX3s's were not compatible

Should have s sticker on the back indicating the model number and compatibility
