I have had great luck with the 7950 servos from hitec. The 7940 work well to. They are just a little more sensitive. I'm dropping in Savox hv servos this week to see how they roll but the hitecs have gone 16 months on straight lipo without issues.

I am using the savox 1258 for throttle and LOVE it. Using the CS-170 for steering but might be looking for something a little faster but other than that it is a great servo as well. IMO you cant go wrong with the Savox servos

7955, these may be a little more pricey but u need to weigh out the cost of a raceday breakdown and over all used value of your equipment. A 7955 will usually sell in about 10min on this site also the warrenty is outstanding, some may dissagree but I havent any issues with them at all. Do some homework and u can find some good deals out there on the new ones usually for around $89 used around $65

i have use most high-end servos, the ones I like best are the futabas bls series but theses are pricey, Jr 9100t and s are fast and torquey but do not seam to last and do not centre properly after some use, the Hitec 7955 well not...its the workhorse of rc, when you do not know what to use can't go wrong with the 7955. I have been using Orion and Savox servos for the last year (Orion and Savox are the same) and have to agree that they are the best bang for the buck, specially the Savox branded ones.

See sig. I've been running the 5955 for 3 years, the 7955 for 2, never an issue, and I'm HARD on steering servos (see avatar)

p.s My definition of "bang for the buck" on servos:

I bang into stuff all the time, and I haven't had to spend any bucks to replace them yet. Why would I try anything else?

Only one distributor carries Savox here in the states. That company is HRP, which has told us to warranty the servos for up to one year. If you purchase a Savox servo from your local hobby dealer, they should be aware of this program.
We haven't had any to come back but all we have to do is send it back to HRP and we get a new one in return.

In a few years of rc racing i have tried every servo known. Several months ago i spoke with a few different hitec reps and techs. Through all the servos of all brands i have burned up and many with a great replacable warranty hitec is the best out there hands down for 1/8 offroad. Specically the 7955. Only thing better is the 7950 and with all the reps i have spoke to they all recomend the 7950 on lipo for both throttle and steering. good luck

Used to be the Ace servos. I ran the 1015 and that's a mean servo. Savox looks to be the new hot servos. I switched to Hitec 7940 and run LiPos with them and love it. GL in your search. So many choices.

I dont understand this huge craze with having the strongest servo you can get your hands on. You dont need 300oz/in for anything 1/8 buggy or truggy.
the hell you dont lol maybe not 300oz for buggy but 350- 400 is needed for truggy. i see people all the time trying to run 100-150 in truggy and they wonder why the truck wont turn.

sorry, but you dont need anything more than 300 for a truggy steerings, hell, i have used the team associated (ACE) 1015 200oz servo on truggy steering with 0probs and never needed anything more.

When truggies first came out, there were none of these 300oz monster servo's being used.
