They say to unplug the battery then reconnect it.

Seems its a bit of a lottery how low (or high) the LVC is set from the factory

Cheap solution is to run the ESC in nimh mode and use a $5 lipo warning buzzer

Cheers

Search ebay for a lipo warning buzzer, should be $5 or so

Plugs into the balance port of your battery

Flashes an led and siounds a buzzer when battery voltage gets low

Run the ESC in nimh mode and bobs your uncle

Cheers

Here's a few -

Prob with a alarm is you have to pay attention to it, it is a passive type cutoff - it does nothing unlike a true lvc that either pulses power to the rc or cuts ot off entirely protecting the lipo. You can overdischarge a lipo running an lva.

I am having the same issue and I'm running a 8 cell NIMH. The throttle keeps cutting out. I tried a diffent controller and receiver and battery pack, yet the problem still persists. This is very aggrivating! Any recalls? I left a message with venom.

Showcase, disable the lowvoltage cut-off if you're using a NiMH battery, the LVC is only for LiPo batteries.

fastfxd, I'd either send it back to Traxxas, or;
Cheap Way: Set ESC to NiMH Mode and use a Low-Voltage Alarm (Potentially Risky)
More Expensive Way: Set ESC to NiMH mode and Install an external low-voltage cutoff.

Up to you.

The lvc on traxxas esc's is junk. My friend has 3 of the vxl-3s esc's and they all are set to different voltage cut off points. They can all drive with brand new batteries that are rated the same, and took the same amount of charge and they will all end at different times even if they drive the same and are geared the same. Its not their driving, because we went in and checked the voltage of each battery with a multimeter and they were all like 0.2v apart (not much, but on a 5000mah pack that is a good couple minutes). They switched over to hobbywing esc's on two of the cars, but one of them still has the traxxas. He just runs in nimh mode and when he has to pull the trigger more to get the same speed, he stops and checks the voltage. After doing that many times, he has averaged the time with his driving style it takes for the battery to get low. So he sets his timer on his ipod/phone (whatever he has in his pocket) to 1 min lower than that. When the alarm goes off, he checks the voltage. Normally a little pre mature but better safe than sorry.
