Just a little input from a EE.

Connector criteria:

1) current handling - boils down to how much surface area makes contact between the mating connector. Clean the male blades once in awhile. Shiny means less corrosion. corrosion acts like insulation decreasing current handling.

2) Poke-a-yoke or polarized connector= can't cross plug them when you are in a rush.

3) Positive locking/high number of insertions - banana plugs usually fail here, the tip collapses, leading to poor contact area.

4) Ease of assembly. How well can you solder? Some connectors are more forgiving than others. Some terminals slide into a housing that can't have the soldered wire past the locking tabs.

5) How big is the wire you are soldering to? Big wire on a little plug can be done, but how hard do you want to work at it?

Power poles are the best, only have to buy one type of plug for everything because there's no male/female and the wires are covered by the connector so don't have to heat shrink it.

Bullets are crap they wear out pretty quickly, seen them get so hot after wearing out that they un-solder the wire.

They're ok but a pain in the arse to unplug.
