Yes the physical timing can be set on motor endbell, no you can't set any electronic timing via esc

I run a cheap voltage booster with mine, though plenty of guys are getting by with just the esc itself. They are probably the best budget esc's ever released.

I just ran this esc at TQ . in 17.5 class no booster or reciever pak .. tq/win ... It has always ran good for me .. If running 13.5 i would suggest running a booster ..

You don't need one in a TC, assuming you're using 2s batteries. There's only a chance of needing one if you're using a 1s battery, where its nominal voltage might drop below the ESC's needs(& as mb racer said, even then it's not always needed)....

I was running this esc with a savox 1251mg servo. During the race I experienced a brown out; like it just died for a minute. Then it came back to life. I was racing mini.

Is there a known issue with Savox servos and this esc? I read in a few places hobbywing products had these problems.

It could be a switch that was off; but does this servo/esc theory have any merrit?

It's a known issue with Savox servos in general, some work perfect others cause brownouts, same servo model.....

I use the same exact same esc/servo combo and haven't had any problems in the past 3 1/2 months of racing. I have heard, however, about people having problems with savox at my track. I guess it's just hit or miss.

Anybody know what the Initial Brake Force setting (#7) does? Is it like an ABS function?

It looks like there is an error in the instruction sheet as it describes the max reverse force twice.

It means the amount of braking force applied when you first touch the brakes. Ie if you set it at 20% then your brake pressure will start at 20%. I set mine equal to drag brake

sorry about that .. I was running 17.5 / 13.5 12th scale ... If u do need a booster for either , try novak , Ive ran them in the past with no problems ..

One of the biggest issues running this esc without a booster is the loss of servo speed. If you are running a road course your servo is only running on battery voltage. With a booster it will run at 5 or 6 volts depending on the model/brand. That is also why the amp rating of the booster is important. On another note, the older/larger AMB transponders need 5v to operate reliably. You don't want to miss being counted.
