Default Mains powered transmitter

Hi all

I am new to this site and was looking for a bit of help if possible

Can you tell me if it is possible to run a transmitter off the mains instead of batteries?

Or can you use your transmitter when it is being recharged?

I run a slash 4x4

Thanks in advance

Henry

If you have a transmitter than has a recharge port on it, you should be able to use it while it is recharging. Test it at home. Just plug it in for a recharge then turn it on and drive the truck. Other than that, I'm not aware of any pre-made way to run one off the electrical outlet/mains.

Why would you want to be connected to mains power while outside playing with your car ?

Grab youself some LSD (Low Self Discharge) nimh rechargeable's and you will have hours of radio time between charging

Some radios will allow the batteries to be charged while still in the radio, radio must be turned off while charging

Cheers

Radios that allow recharging batteries while in the radio allow charging only at low rates (usually just a few 100ma) and only with the radio off. You'll do better time wise to get a separate charger for the batteries. That way you're not down for so long waiting for the batteries to recharge.

You can get 2 sets of the LSD type batteries so when one set is used up, you can place them on charge and switch to the other set and continue running.

If thats a Link TX like mine, it doesn't recharge batts in the radio anyway.
