Default Capacitor needed for Speed Passion GT 2.0 LPF?

I bought a used Speed Passion GT 2.0 LPF, it didn't come with the small form capacitor. Do I need a capacitor to run this. My set up is running either a novak SS4300 or a LRP x-11 13.5 turn with 3000mah to 5000mah 7.2V nimh batteries.

If I do need a capacitor, do I need the factory stock or will another work?

Thanks

Absolutely, you need a capacitor, they are included for a very good reason. Maybe not the small form one, but it’s important that it's a low ESR capacitor. Stock SP or the optional SP is the safest of course, but perhaps another brand speedo cap could be used in a pinch.
