Depends on why it's splitting. If the case is just coming undone, maybe just hit it with some CA glue or wrap the case with a strip of electrical tape to help hold it shut. If it's split because the cells inside are swelling/puffing, stop using it and get a replacement.

If they are brand new and coming apart, I'd try to get a new one anyway regardless of reason.

If the one that's splitting will not lie flat on a flat surface like a table top because the lipo inside is swollen, its time to get a replacement.

If it lies flat then I don't understand why case has started to split. But if it came that way out of the box, new, I'd send it back for replacement anyway.

Wonder if they got hot in the mail? My opinion, you deserve lipos delivered that are in good shape physically and electrically.

I've gotten lipos from UPS that were very warm, warmer than I'll ever get them running them. USPS hasn't been that bad. I try to stay away from UPS shipping when I'm ordering lipos.

I try to stay away from UPS period... too many instances that I have had stuff lost, mis handled, and always overcharged.

My wife's business uses UPS for everthing, and generally they haven't been bad. For little stuff like most RC items, they're slow compared to USPS Priority which is my preference.

I bought used Inferno GT that was shipped UPS. It came crushed and I bet the owner is still trying to get the insurance from them. You absolutely have to pack stuff going UPS very well or it will arrive damaged - if its of any size.

Here when its hot, the stuff arrives at 'closed car in the sun temps' - literally. I've had tools that were almost too hot to handle.

USPS > UPS. Faster, safer service (apart from their crude tracking system)

If you send the email thru eBay, I'd give him a day or two and then file with eBay.
