I would just convert to Deans, they have much less resistance than Tamiya connectors. They will handle the current that a brushless motor will draw from your batteries much better. Maybe you know someone that can teach you how to solder, it's really a skill that you need for this hobby and it's easy once you know how.

its a few bucks for a packet of deans , tamiya plugs suck , just get your LHS to solder on deals to your charger and whatever else needs converting.

or get an iron and some solder , heatshrink and learn yaself.

If you're going to a race, it's likely someone there will have a soldering setup. Just ask around for some help, unsolder the Deans from the wires. Do you have Tamiya connectors to use for now?

For the future definitely plan on upgrading connectors soon. As mentioned the Tamiya connectors don't hold up all that well, either to repeated use or much power.

Kdeep an eye on them - I melted and fused a set of Tamiyas. I was luck that they didn't short and cost me my electronics. If your setup has much amp draw at all, the tamiys will get hot and melt. Keep an eye on them!

if you are not using hi amp draw motors, then tamiya plugs will be fine. Bear in mind this design has been around for over 2 decades and the pins on both male and female plugs will wear out faster, plus its chromium plated and crimped directly on the wires. no solder to ensure a good flow of electrons through the wires.

trust the good people in the rctech universe. they are speaking from experience. Loose the tamiya style plugs and upgrade them to Deans

If we were racing together tomoro, i dont mind soldering up a pair of deans for you. hope someone will help you on race day

good luck

AE put deans on that car for a reason, too much power for a tamiya style plug!!!
