I want to race WGT 1S LiPo 10.5t
What HW esc best to use.
HW 120A 1S seems to be the obvious choice. But it is a bit heavy.
Would the HW Extreme Stock work? Knowing that is isn't a 1S esc, but 2S-3S.
Would that be a problem?
Could it work with this booster: http://www.carsrcracing.co.uk/?p=183

The HW Extreme Stock seems interesting because it is lighter than the HW 120A 1S. But I have heard of problems with the HW Extreme Stock when using 1S LiPo and booster. Is that common? Something to do with the software?

In the specs it says that HW 120A 1S weighs 105g. Someone told me that that is including wires. What does it weigh without wires?

Weight is of the utmost importance for me because I want to be as close to the limit as possible (930g) with a XRay X10 Link and 1S LiPo and mini or micro servo and wires as short as possible. Would 930g be possible with the HW 120A 1S?

Jack Zhang (from Hobbywing) told me this afternoon that the weight of the 120A 1S is 105g WITH wires.

So what is the 40-50g weight you are referring to?
Is that the weight of the 120A 1S?
Is it with or without the wires?

If it weighs 40-50g than my decision is made. It's gonna be the 120A 1S then.
But I am still not sure because Hobbywing themselves say it weighs 105g (with wires). Now the wires will not weigh 50g or so, now will they?

What to believe?!

the weight is without wires, as cars have different set-ups and different lengh of wires needed.

hey guys, I was looking at the Hobbywing 1s esc for Mod 12th scale and wanted to hear some thoughts on performance compared to others such as LRP Tekin Nosram and others. And also is there anywhere that has them in stock right now? Thanks in advance!

yes the weight is wrong on the website

actual weights are as follows

justock 61 grams with wiring -30 grams without wiring

xtreme stock 75 grams with wiring -34 grams without wiring

xerun 120 amp 2-3s and 1s 96 grams with wiring 52 grams with no wiring

these weight measurements dont including solder but do include heatsinks and fans etc

The weight tests were done using a Jellewers scale which is 100% accurate.

regards Angelo

Thanks Angelo, thats some good information. Now, if you could make an XtemeStock 1S, that would be fantastic. I must sound like a broken record by now. Atleast I am not asking for a logger.

Cheers,
Shawn.
