Hi, I am looking for some advice.
I just jump to Super Stock class with timing, and I have only been driving blinky before.
I have an Novak Vulcan 17.5T, Hobbywing V3 on a Mi5 car.
I run only indoor carpet, and the tracks is okay big, and the straight can be up to 80 ft, and with some tight corners.
I downloaded my current setup as I got installed from a friend, but I think I am missing some power.
The temp on my esc after 5 minuts is about 144 Farenheit, and around 162 on the motor. The endball timing on the Novak is 32.5 deg.
My FDR is 6.84
Any surgestions what to change, without getting the temps to high up.

turbo a. method- full TH
turbo engage slope, .18/s
try, next step, is a change in FDR...
I can't speak for the directors of ROAR, but generally speaking new speed controls must be tested and approved even if the software is already approved on a different ESC. This is because it is very easy for the software to know what ESC it is running on, and make changes based on that information. The resulting performance can be completely different when using the same software on different ESCs.
To my knowledge, the Hobbywing 3.1 1s hasn't been submitted for testing.

We had this problem in the UK that although it was a V3.1, because it was different hardware that needed separate submission to the regular V3.1. Fortunately for UK HW users, it was sorted very quickly over here.

hello i have bought a sky rc toro 120, is the same esc than hobbywing v3.1?? it,s very similar if not the same shape??
Tech Master
Nope, Hobbywing have been quite clear in stating a number of times that the Sky RC / G Force / Powers ESC's are nothing what so ever to do with them.
Dont be fooled thinking you have purchased a Hobbywing Oem product of a brand as you havent .

I don't know if you guys are aware yet, but it appears the 3.1 1s is NOT considered Roar approved at the moment for blinky class.
This is unfortunate for quite a few of us that thought that was a foregone conclusion. With Roar approval "pending" on your website well before this, many assumed it was in cue for approval.
I raced with the Roar Speedo inspector today and he confirms he has not received one for testing.
If you have a any 2.1 1s models still available (I assume THAT is Roar Approved?) I would strongly suggest loaning them to those loyal racers that were looking forward to running the 3.1 at Nats.
Thanks for anything you can do to help out loyal Hobbywing users with this situation.

The good news is the paperwork now has been emailed to howard and the esc will be shipped today.
I was running SpeedPassion MMM motors until saturday. I bought a HW V10 4.5T motor. I'm looking for a good starting setup for mod on carpet. Not sure what's ideal gear ratio for this motor.
Also I'm still on the first software version on my HW V3.1. What changed in the lastest software?
