NEW HOBBYWING STOCK SUPERCHARGED SOFTWARE

I guess I’m a little confused. I’m getting into the programming side of the ESC. I currently have a Xerun 120A 1S which, according to the picture on the box is a 2.1 version. I downloaded the USB link software version 3.1 setup 120612 within the last week or so from the Hobbywing and installed on my computer. When I plug in the 2 in 1 Program box and click on the LCD Program Box Tab I get the following upgrade choices:
A. Software Version: V1.08_120504
Device Type: LCD Program Box
Hardware Version: HW310 V1.0
This software is suitable for the following ESC:
1. XERUN Series Car ESC (Version 2.0 and 2.1)
2. EZRUN Series Car ESC (Version 2.0 and later)
3. PLATINUM Series helicopter/airplane ESC
B. Software Version: V1.11_120331_V3
Device Type: LCD Program Box
Hardware Version: HW310 V1.0
This software is only suitable for the following ESC:
1. XERUN Series Car ESC (Version 3.0 and later)
(Warning! V1.11_120331_V3 is ONLY suitable for this kind of Speedo)
Based on this info I upgraded the 2 in 1 box to V1.08_120504.
When I plug in the ESC and click on the ESC Speed Controller Tab I get the following choices:
V3.0_110930_MOD
V1.10_090205_MOD
V3_508_NO Timing
V1_508_zero_rev
V3.0_110903STOCK
V1.10_090323a_m
I ASSUME that the V3xxxxxx upgrades are for the V3 ESCs and the V1xxxxx upgrades are for all others. Is this a correct assumption?
I have stopped at this point without uploading the ESC firmware due to the info previously posted. It APPEARS that this version of the USB Link V3.1 software can be used for both the V 2.1 and V 3 ESCs assuming that you use the correct software for your particular ESC version.
My question is, should I load one of the V1xxxxxx ESC choices or revert back to the USB Link V1.64 software and go from there.

Recently bought a V3 from CPD Racing in the UK, in stock, and colour choice!
The service was excellent and they have some helpfull info on their website about installing the esc and producing set-up sheets.
As a foot note, i'm so pleased with the build quality and performance of the V3 that I have also just bought a 1s speedo from CPD Racing, again, this was in stock and the same excellent service, not fitted it yet but hope to run it this coming weekend. CPD also advised and helped me with setting up the 1s speedo to run a 1s 3.7v cell, couldn't ask for more.
Keep up the good work Hobbywing, loving your products

The v3 508 no timing was roar approved last year. It is version 3 of the software not the new v3 esc. The software was updated from v1 to have stronger brakes. It is confusing when they have a esc and software with the same name, but is used for different products.

You can indeed use the USB V3.1 software on your 2.1 speedo (and box)

USB link V3.1 works with v2.0 and v2.1 esc's, but you have to use the profile for those series of esc, that being V1.08_120504
Are you doing the process correctly? Flash programmer first, then flash esc - don't forget to power it up with your battery pack or the software can't see the esc

Thanks much Chris and ManxPlumber. I flashed the Program Box no problem but I was hesitant on flashing the ESC until I more fully understood the ESC program choices. Looks like I’m good to go. Appreciate the help.

so for now ive asked them to run 1.64v for the 2.1v until we sort out the naming and stop the confusion

The link works but the confusion is many want to run the v3 508 no timing on the 2.1 and by mistake upgrade the 2 in 1 program box to v3 meant for v3 esc and thats because of the naming of the different programs .we need to change the naming and make it easier for the customer to understand

For the ones who are not aware and are still questioning hobbywing's ability to be a front runner in esc technology well remember this small info .The past world titles it has been hobbywing oem's that have won the titles even the latest win by orion .These esc's are 100% designed by michael Lui ,Head engineer and part owner of hobbywing tech co ltd .Hardware and software is researched and designed by michael no one else .
