Hi, I'm planning to run 8.5 on my SC. But will 10.5 with supercharge firmware go faster than 8.5? And what do you guys think of running 8.5 with supercharge firmware on low turbo setting? Or should I stick with the normal software and just use the normal timing adjustment?
Thanks.
Thanks.

This has surely been posted but I did not find it easily in the thread atleast.
I am new to hobbywing and I run TC rubber mod, 17.5t and 1s 1/12 and SC mod.
Could someone do a summary of what ESCs to run in which class and what software versions to use? Some starting setups and FDR:s would be nice also.

8.5 with timing is no prob for the 120a xerun. 10.5 with timing will be much faster then 8.5 without.... i don't think you would need anything more then 10.5 with timing in a 2wd... but i race 2wd buggies! I had no trouble with low timing settings wheel standing down our main straight, but it was still good to drive in the tighter stuff. Loved it...
xerun 120a is the best all round speedy... The advantage of the stock speedy i size which is handy in TC... but leaves you limited in motor selection.

I ran my 60a Xerun the other night for the first time, considering I don't have a programmer or turbo ware on it yet, was surprised by how quick it was in general, at least compared to others running non turbo style esc's.
Also I, and others noticed just how good the brakes are, in fact I don't think I have ever seen anything pull up as quick as something with a HW in it, great if your a late braker off a high speed straight.

FDR's - I used to run 7.0 - 7.5 in 10.5, and have only run 17.5 once on a large track.... ran 6.0 - 6.2 FDR
With timing that is.
17.5 - Start around 6000-7500rpm. Timing settings highish... so close to max with low motor timing. Play with punch and turbo delay to keep heat away and stop esc from spazzing out. But usualy punch run around 200rpm per degree
10.5 - Start around 9000rpm. Timing set about mid way.. low motor timing. Same as above for punch and turbo delay., probably a little less aggressive on the punch
Should be ably to play with that

for the 8.5T just use the normal timing function it will be prefect for you as the turbo function was designed to function at its best with 10.5T and over .

We have done the testing and yes the 10.5T will run faster than the 8.5T with the turbo function .The 8.5T with turbo function will not make a huge power difference and will probably cause more heat that is needed.

I have bought a new hobbywing 120A for my T3 and put my 60A in my X6-2. After I got home I noticed I got a 2.1 version and also that the caps are not wrapped with shrink tubing and are just soldered on a small circuit board with no protection. After my first 5 min run I changed my battery and the caps where smelling badly. I touched one to check the temp and than there whas smoke and a lot more burn smell. The esc still works without issues but if I dare touche A caps It starts smelling and makes a sound like there is a short circuit. So I would recommend everybody to put some heat shrink over there caps. Still would be better if hobbywing would do that before selling them (don't know if every 120A version 2.1 is sold without heat shrink).to be on the safe side I will order some new caps and replace them

10.5 x12 setup help
Please help on this one,
Motor is LRP x12 10.5T with default mechanical timing(zero).
Air temp 84F/29°C
Track temp 95-104F/35-40°C
Motor temp after 5min of run 185F/85°C with YR tornado 14000rpm fan
Track/tire grip medium - open medium large track
Current setup:
FDR=6.8
punch is level 7
drag brake 10%
#9 - 3
#12- 5
#13- 2 or 3
#14- 2
#15- 4
I didn't have any time to play with option #15 but this option kinda force u to change all other.
If i go with #9 and #12 up motor is to hot.
Can u sugest what to change on setup or maybe give whole setup to try.
I need increase my speed performance without loosing punch as i have LRP/NOSRAM guys that are damn fast with new speedos - same motor.
Thanks
