WTF - 90 day warranty?!
This is from their only distributor in North America....

Cobra, can you address this 90 day thing? I thought you said this would only be for places like Hobbypartz that are not really Hobbywing reps....

It's 1 year warranty on factory defect's only not if you plug it in reverse polarity or run it through mud and water etc and the factory will know if its neglect trust me on that we have the equipment and know how if it has been abused .

Hi Angelo.I have just received a hobbywing 120a v2.1 ecs. I'm a little concerned about it being a genuine product. The switch is not black it is blue it does not have red around the set up button, and the solder posts are marked up as abc -+ It did not come in a hobbywing box and the instructions are not a good quality paper or print. Does this sound like a genuine product to you?. The seller is insisting he dealt with Hobbywing direct.

The V2.1 is A+B-C, it's the V2.0 that is ABC-+, so if it says 2.1 on the ESC it's certainly a copy.
Still need confirmation from Angelo.

Cheers FFred It does state 2.1 on the ecs. I also just opened the package with the wires in there is a 4 can capacitor in there not a two + a censor wire which I don't think is supplied with a gen hobbywing.

Try taking some pictures of the unit and post the pictures here, that may help to identify if it's a copy or not.

Cheers
Rob.

Ok so I have taken a few photos to highlight why I think it is a fake. Firstly, it came in two anti-static bags as opposed to an actual Hobbywing box:

Here is the ordering of the posts. Also note the blue switch and the red sensor cable:

Here is the V2.1 sticker (paint had already pealed on opening):

Here is the end of the speedo - where there should be a barcode:

block of 4 capacitors:

The Instructions have pictures of Sub-C cells rather than a LIPO and the paper and print are poor quality compared (compared side by side with a my mates instructions). I am pretty convinced this is a fake but would really like your opinion.

Post order is identical to the Speed passion, GT2.1. I would be curious to know what it says when you plug it into the computer.

At Hobbywing's website You can find some comparison pics between fake and genuine products, take a look at it.

Sir, I really hate to inform you, but you have been scammed, your product is indeed a fake. There are many indicators there, and many "red flags" about it. I would contact the seller, send the product back, and demand a refund. Good Luck!
