As for sponsoring the best drivers well ill tell you money talks but if the stuf dont work the driver WALKS

Now lets focus on product support

I know he hasn't won TC, although he was close few times, but I had to take care my kids and didn't finish my thoughts as I wanted

I dont know if its just me but it seems as if this thread has become somewhat diluted recently. There is more argueing than helping going on at the moment. Who really cares who hobbywing has driving for them, I know who Andy Moore is and have seen him drive and he is fast BUT just because he has a hobbywing in his car it makes no difference to me as i and many other people will ever be able to drive like him, wether they have the same bits or not. I think there should really be a new thread for the V3 so people who have the older v2 esc`s can actually get the help they want/need.

So to sum it up who cares who drives for hobbywing aslong as they keep making great products!

To roger999 the xtreme and v2.1 are basically the same, not sure on the v2. I think you can update the v2 firmware to v2.1 anyway but someone else will be able to confirm this

I believe the 930 filmware is still the newest for the v2.1

Default Problem with HW 1S in blinky mode

The local track runs World GT with 13.5 motors, 1S LiPo and ESC blinky mode. I smoked my Tekin last night so I thought I would try a Hobbywing 1S mainly because it has a built in DC/DC booster and some of the other local drivers seem to love it. I installed it today and it works just fine when loaded with either the STOCK or MOD software version. When I loaded the "V3_508_NO timing" sofware (blinky mode), when the ESC is turned on it gives me the 2 beep input voltage warning and the motor will not run. This is with a freshly charged 1S LiPo (double checked and it is at 4.2V). The ESC will not even talk to the program box in order to revert to another software load. I had to hook up a 2S LiPo in order to make any changes. Switch back to the STOCK or MOD software version and everything is OK. Switch back to blinky and same problem. I tried dropping the low voltage cut-off down to 2.6V, same problem. The only way it will work is if I set the low voltage cut-off to Non_protected, which the Hobbywing site recommends not doing with lithium batteries.

Anybody had this same experience? If so, got a solution?

Thanks,

Henry

I noticed the ESC makes a high pitched tone with the blinky software and non-protected low voltage cut-off, but everything does work.

What software version did you download and install to your program box?
If you used the V3 software then it may be causing your problems.
The 1S ESC requires this version http://www.hobbywing.com/upload/soft....64_111011.rar

Cheers
Rob.

I did not load the V3 software. I did see that the V3 software is only for the new V3 ESC. I loaded the latest 2.1 software that is on the Hobbywing site. Since I made the post, I have heard back from others and they have found they have to run with the low voltage cut-off in Non_Protection mode. Seems a bit odd that only the blinky mode has issues with voltage input measurements. Is this a bug or just the nature of running blinky? One would think monitoring input voltage would not be impacted by what mode you are running.

It's a bug in the software, and has been for a while. There is a fix in the pipeline (and I know this will rile some people, as it's been in the pipeline for a while), but to be honest, if your running blinky, unless your running over 20mins, your unlikely to get close to dumping...

Low voltage cut off does not work properly on the 1s with 508, just remove the protection and your fine to run. We will get a fix soon I hope. Just monitor the mAh you use and your fine.

Time for a separate thread perhaps for just general questions on hobbywing?
