Which setup and software should I use on my TC car (kyosho TF5 shaft) for a Reedy Sonic 10.5 motor, Xerun 120 v2.1 1S ESC (2S Lipo, of course)? The track where I'm practicing has a pretty long straight line (around 80 meters / 250 feet)
Thanks for your advice

Are you going to run zero timing for next season or boosted?
How's the track you race on? Ales?? didn't know a track there.

Boosted, as it's just for winter practice. I race 1/8th offroad.
This track is at the Pole Mecanique. Here is a short vid, with my F103 GT : http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7h3pz_run-f103_auto

Getting back into electric racing after a couple of years away from it, and it's making me crazy trying to figure out all the firmware, inserts , timing , boost , and combinations to make these things work. I hate the 1s in 10th pan and I'm slowly learning to live with it in 12th. Controversy over firmware and boost and timing is typical for electric tech, but it's much worse now than I remember it ever being. I now remember why I left electric for nitro years ago.

tuning a brushless motor through you esc is nothing more complicated then tuning a nitro engine. I never have driven nitro so i can go on about how difficult a nitro engine is to tune correctly but as a racer i know that you have to invest some time in a hobby to understand the basics. I am sure a nitro engine is not difficult after learning the basic. Nothing different imo.

ps:
about 1s lipo vs 2s lipo in a 1:10 pancar....1s is ok if you are on tiny carpet tracks but doesn't make any sence to me on anything other then that.

For those that are from the US and not aware. CRC - Calandra Racing Concepts is now selling Hobbywing ESCs. Check out there website.

They may be the new distributor in the US for HW products not sure.

Not sure, i think they've had problems with the manufacture. Many of the team drivers switched to HW earlier this year and have been very pleased with it's performance.

well said and very true the basics are the most important .example kyosho in off road is so successful because they have never moved away from the bascis when it comes to designing a buggy .

Building without fundamental basics of the ancient times today would never stand higher than a single floor .

Basics guys are the most important

CRC stills sells them. HW is less money for todays ecomony. No reciever pack either. I run my HW in road and BD in oval. Both are great speedos

Just curious, does anyone have experience with a xerun 5.5 motor on 2s? how much timing can you put in a xerun 5.5 and still handle comfortably?

Default Just a question

I have the xerun 120a system in the 1/12 scale with a 13.5 for Oval. I have the program box loaded with v1.08_111007. I have 3.0_110930_mod. I have all of the settings at default but once and a while when I'm bench testing I pull it full throttle and I get this sudden extra boost. Would anyone have any ideas... I kinda like it to happen all the time

You should NEVER full throttle your system on the bench.
If it does not happen when you are on the track means it is not set properly or your straight is too short before the boost/turbo kicks in.
