Pretty sure it locks the timing + output an LED sequence for no timing. That's the whole point of the firmware.

Ok, then what is the best non-turbo firmware for my XERUN 60a/13.5 combo? I am thinking of switching to a different class (RCGT) which I can not use timing advance for.

Last time I checked, 508 is the only firmware with non adjustable timing.

Its a fixed non advancing software version with no adjustments and can be verified by a flashing red led when in neutral.
I believe its 0 timing.

If the class allows the old software then use 312, otherwise most stock classes seem to be adopting the ""0 timing" rule.

Thanks for the response. One last question, if i do use 508 software, will I have the option to change all 11 parameters using the LCD box as before all the "turbo" stuff came along? For example, can I adjust 508 the same way as say 110? Thanks in advance...just trying to understand a few things.

yes you will be able to change the parameters as pre turbo timing implementation with the 508 not a problem in the world .508 is a upgrade of older firmware pre turbo 422 and beyond just some bugs were fixed and some added braking etc .

I don't own one (yet?), but I'm keeping a close eye on the progress you make. Here's what I'd like in an ESC:

1. The raw speed of a Tekin
2. The smooth power delivery and brakes of an LRP
3. The ability to tune it without a laptop, like the little programming box you guys have
4. The ability to go into "spec" mode and back to non-spec without updating or flashing firmware, and without having to reset all your parameters when you toggle between the two.
5. Removable receiver wire that I can shorten or replace without soldering to the board.

As a bonus, it would be awesome if ESC's were capable of storing data about your run so you could dump the info to a PC later on, and see exactly what's going on with timing vs RPM, etc.

You cant have everthing in this world.

This Hobbywing esc has incredible power. Yes definately for smooth power delivery, set on a higher setting of timing punch (longer ramp).

It makes my 13.5 smoother and have more acceleration than an LRP SPX (that was very smooth) and the same top speed as an SPX with 10.5.

My clubs carpet surface is very sensitive to overheating the tires if theres too much punch in the esc and the hobbywing is one of the few escs that works on it.

The slight niggle is the brakes from slow speed. The brakes from high speed (where you actually use them) are great. Also, theres no lag from high speed like I seen in the GM and Mamba Max Pro.

The LCD programmer does it all, except run mod and stock profiles.

SP have released both a 528 STOCK and MOD firmware, the latest hobbywing update only includes 528 MOD.

2 questions:

Is there any different between 528 MOD and STOCK in the SP version?

If there is, will we see hobbywing release the update for 528 Stock?

thanks

and to above post, here are pics from RedRC http://www.redrc.net/2010/06/hobbywi...club-spec-esc/
