Very helpful, thank you for this explanation. I have been confused with the numbering of the different releases numbering also. I still think however it would be better if the FW numbering was more generic.

v3.0-stock
v3.0-mod
v3.1-stock
v3.1-mod
v3.1.1-stock

and so on and so on.....

More clean and simple, just an idea.

Also why do we need a stock and mod version? Can the features in stock not be disabled for mod? Do they do this to protect people from configuring their mod motors wrong with the stock FW and blowing something up? Or is there more to it that I'm unaware of.

In my opinion it would be nice to have just 2 firmwares, the 508 non-ramping FW (renamed to "Spec" or "Non-Ramping") and the most current ramping FW with features disableable for mod.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but if the reason for the stock and mod FW's is just to protect people from doing damage to their equipment maybe they shouldn't be running an advanced ESC like this.

By the way.... I LOVE MY HOBBYWING!

Actually no. If you have your HW set up properly, you will unfortunately keep passing those darn tekins.

Shawn.

Changed my Novak 1S 1/12 Pancar setup last night. Picked up another .4 second. Basically increase the rollout another 5mm, delayed the turbo, and went to a slower Boost Ramp because of the higher rollout. Resulted in more infield rip, and a higher top speed on the straight.

Heres the run down on the setup.

1/12 1S PanCar Novak 17.5 Ballistic
FW 211
Rollout 88mm Motor Temp 125F (After 2 back to back races for 16min total!)

DDRS 8
Boost 50
Turbo 14
Turbo Ramp Max
Boost Ramp 100rpm/step
Turbo Delay .3sec
End Bell Timing 15deg

Mod Software, talk to me!

what should I be looking at using? what ratio's?

I will be running a 4.5 and 5.5 ranging on various tracks large - small.

I tried a 5.5t today on software 205 (random choice), geared 7.6 - 8.4, at 8.4 it topped out at 7.6 it was better and the acceleration was good, but it just didnt have the top end compared to a 13.5 with boost.... ideas?

Ok sorted after reducing the FDR of the car and changing some settings.
In trying to get more punch speed out of corners I did play with the setting 15* down to 200 but feels like is not making any difference. On 119 setting 15* seems to make lot of difference. Wonder why, I may flash again.

New win
Today I won the first round of the Superstock 17.5 Laurenziana Florence, Italy.
I used a 'Xtreme with 211 FW and Novak motor.

Right, I forgot!

Mechanical timing was 0 and the version of the Novak is the old SS Pro, always very fast and temperatures 60 / 65 .

Ok!
So that is the 30deg absolute Novak standard setting then.

Off topic I see you live in Firenze. It is supposed to be something of a Minimoto mecca. Do you know of any Minimoto racing over there?
