It's not only smoother, it's noticable faster!

Tried the 101224STOCK Yesterday, and am very happy with it!

Car: Serpent S120L
Motor: LRP X12 13.5T, **** timing insert.
Rollout 58~60mm
Because our track has a speedtrap, I know I run around 17000 RPM (60kmh/59mm roll out)

Started with Boost (#9) on 30 degree, no turbo (#12), Boost start RPM (#13) 5000, Boost Timing Acc (#15) on 350.
(Boost start RPM+Timing Acc*Boost = 5000+(30*350)=15500 RPM where max timing is reached.)
This meant that the total timing was around the same as the 518 Firmware, but the amount of punch!... Hiiii Haaaaa!!!!!!.....

Motor and ESC stayed cool, which meant an effective system, which performed very constant during 14 Minutes I could drive on a IP 5600mAh 1S Lipo!

I finished the day with:
#9 (Boost) on 35 Degree,
#10 (Turbo slope rate) on 1.5/0.1s (slowest)
#12 (Turbo) on 6Degree,
#14 (Turbo delay) on 0.4s
#15 (Boost Timing Acc.) on 350
Setting Boost Timing Acc. to 250, didn't really gain acceleration, but did give more heat, and drained the Lipo earlier, so topspeed went down to much after a few minutes....
Take a look at mylaps, where you can analyse my runs:
http://www.mylaps.com/practice/showL...date=12-1-2011

This gave me a top speed of 62.6 Kmh and took .2 Seconds of my laptimes!.... 10.1 seconds I drove....

But, during the evening and some beers later, somehow I always seem to drive relaxed, but slower!...

A friend of mine who drives with the same car/motor, but with a LRP SXX Stockspec, normally had around the same topspeed as I had, but had more punch, now couldn't keep up with me at the track anymore. I drove away from him after every corner and past him on the straight, but the best thing to see was that at the 6 minutes mark, the difference was getting bigger, in my advantage!

I'm really looking forward to next clubmeeting, because I really believe I've closed the gap to the nr.1 Driver of the club, so will try (and must be able now) to make his life a bit harder.

Well that is in 2 days then . Quite awesome that they achieved an even more efficient way of controlling the motor. Good job HW.

I don't have a HW but i sure can appreciate a good product and the R&D that they do to improve the efficiency of there systems. (other brands as well)

If I re se-up the esc to my transmitter, does it return the software settings to the pre-set values and mean I need to plug it back into the pc?

I hope I understand you correct, but no.

Recalibrating the throttle/brake/neutral settings doesn't affect the ESC "drive" settings....

Excellent, I was worried I had lost my settings and needed to set it up again.

turbo slope rate of 1.5/0.1s??? i presume you do not have a long straight and you do not really need the turbo?

looking forward to the weekend after just so that I could run more setups ... quite easy to get carried away and just bump up everything, when you may not need all that timing (boost) in your infield, so that you have more turbo timing for the straights ...

How do sensorless motors work with the 60/120A xeruns? I have a 150A xerun I run with sensorless all the time and it works great. In sensored mode it is a pretty simple and straightforward dual mode esc. All the settings are the same in each mode. The 60/120A xeruns have all the fancy boost settings, which don't work sensorless. I am wondering because I am thinking about picking up a sensorless motor to run with my 120A xerun. I could use the 150A, but it is HUGE.

Well, with 6 degrees turbo it takes 0.4 Seconds to fully open....
The straight is about 35m, indoor track, 1/12 scale.

But, without turbo, the total power consumption is lower, and I keep a way beter speed after 6 Minutes, I think in the end, after a 8 minutes final you will be faster!....
Turbo I will use for qualifying is my idea at this moment....

load the software and try it out with low timing first to see how it feels in terms of temperature of the motor, then slowly increase the boost timing whilst continually monitoring the temperature.

dont see why not actually since the speedo can be used to run a sensorless motor

Hi there
Im running 508 (non timing) software, as per local rules.
Local rules allow me to change timing on the motor, so what motor timing would you recommend . 13.5T Duo2
Cheers

Nice to hear, with the speedtrap it`s so easy to tune the HW...
Did you noticed any difference on the turbo? With the old software it always was very smooth and i never noticed when it kicked in, with the Tekin it was 100% different, thats just like a second stage.
Hope it is still very smooth....Noticed any gain in topspeed or acceleration in the higher rpm`s?
