Default Traxxas EZ Peak charger on vehicle's battery?

Just wondering what you guys do in the field when you need to charge your batteries? I have the Traxxas EZ Peak charger ac/dc with 4 amp fast charge. Does anyone use their vehicle's battery as the power supply to your charger? If not, what kind of battery do I use? Thanks!

I use mine frequently, just unhook everything occasionally and start the car to make sure I am not over draining it. I also have a small 12V lead battery I take with me, it will charge about 10 packs before needing recharge.

Don't operate the charger while running your auto - the alternator's signal is not very 'clean' and can damage your charger.

Why not just run an inverter. I don't like the idea of hooking up directly to the battery.

I would think that if you expect to do this frequently, you might want to pick up a spare battery, like the ones used for RV's or something and charge off of that rather than the vehicle battery. That way, if you do happen to drain it, you won't be stranded
