Default Hitec 7954SH vs 7955TG

i no the 7954 can ran at 7.4v but i noticed the 7955TG is higher in price.. so is one better than the other? do they create much slop? i need something way better then my JR ST126's for steering because after a month of racing they have a rediculous amount of slop in them. will either of these hitecs create slop?
thanks for any info

the 7955tg can handle lipo too! UNREG!!!

looks like the 54sh though, has a steel gear set as where the 55 has a titanium gear set.

Get the 7955 for sure. I have one that is over a year old and cannot believe its durability and performance. I felt a little slop starting to develop in the front of my buggy and figured the gears were finally wearing after a year. The slop ended up being the aluminum servo horn!! I put on a new horn and all is good again. Switching to Hitecs has been one of the best moves for me. I run the 7955 for throttle and steering with a 2s lipo unregulated and could not ask for more.

I just ordered a 7954 and i have a 7955tg. So has anyone had any problems running unregulated lipo to the 7955TG? I have heard and read a bunch of stuff that says that it is ok and wont hurt the life. I just wondered if someone can back this up?

Cool Thanks. I seen someone put the specs out for the 7955 at 7.4 And they were real simular to the 7954. Just wanted to hear from someone that has been running them unregulated.. "Whats up Nick"?

My 7955TG has been flawless for nearly 8 months of 8th scale steering duty and when my new truggy comes home in a few weeks, its going in there for steering duty. Can't be beat for the price, imo.

Also, I have multiple friends that have been running them for a long time on
2s lipo, unregulated, with 0 issues. That's the route my truggy is going too, when I build it.

Default Servo's

I am going to be ordering new servos amongst other items from A main this week.
I need new throttle and steering servo's.
I will most likely get the 7955tg for steering, is this overkill for throttle/brake?
If it is what people recomend then so be it, and if a cheaper one is only $10 cheaper then I would get the better one anyway, unless a cheaper one is a better option due to speed etc?

What should I get?

I am currently running 7954 on both throttle, brake and steering on my buggy. They are fast enough for the throttle, and they deffinatly have enough power for steering. Just make sure to set your endpoints right. With all that torque you can do some damage to your carb I have used super fast servos with light torque on the throtttle they seem to not last as long as the "Stronger line of servos". These deffinatly compare! Plenty fast.
