I have a chance to buy an M8 with spectrum, 2 RX's, for 125 bux... or a nearly new DX3S for 150 with the telemtry RX.

I used to have an M8 and loved it.... and dont know anything about hte new gear...

what do you guys think? Save my money and get the m8 with spec and 2 rx's or get the new gear?

I would go M8.

I have one with a synthesized set up on it and it works great.

Reliability is the downfall of the DX3S. I know many people that ended up selling them for cheap because they would randomly stop working. They sent them back and would get them back in the same condition with a notice saying that they worked perfectly.

i have both setups and I like the spektrum. It is so much lighter and easy to handle. I am probably going to sell the M8 because it is just so bulky. I do like the programability of the M8 but I haven't found anything I can't do with my dx3s and I haven't had a problem with it stopping working.

yea go with the M8, i know it is older but has much better quality compared to the DX3s

Slightly off topic but..

What about the MX 3X FHSS 3?

Would this be as good if not equal to the DX3S (aside from telemetry).

I am set to buy one tomorrow.
I kinda have a thought though, that if for some reason I ever need a 4ch radio I could grab a M11X tx and use the receivers.

But I could go for a DX3S (slightly used) with an SR300 receiver for about the same price as the MX 3X.

Any thoughts?
