Default What is a good 4S charger?

I have a couple Hyperion 14.8v 5000Mah batteries for 1/8th scale. What would be a good charger that could do a 2C charge rate into these? I currently have a couple 50W turnigy's and need to add 1-2 more chargers to my collection as I am converting kids cars to Lipo's.

I'd like that Hyperion Duo LiPo charger, but it is extremely expensive..

Thats going to take some power - 16.8v *10amps (2C) - 168watts. Means you can't use the Accucel-8 (150watts). The next best one I'm aware of is the iCharger 106b - 250watts and 10amps max charge rate. The Hyperion 0720i would give you some charge rate to spare (250watts, 20amps), but its almost half again more expensive.

It would be a toss up if I was going to spend that kind of money - 0720iNet or the iCharger 208b (350watts, 20amps). I'd need to know more about the iCharger, really like its advertised ability to do 2 lipos at once with simultaneous balancing handled with an adapter board that lets you connect both balance leads.

I would get a Checkpoint TC1030. I use them on everything from single Nicd cells to a 4s lipo for a buddies 8th scale.

I got mine for $40 from a buddy, but I see them go for around $100 used all the time.

The Ice is a good one, but is limited to 8 amp charge and 1c for lipos. The checkpoint will do 10 amp charge and 2c for lipo is the limit. If you get one and will be charging at 10amps, get at least a 15 amp power supply.

Well, I was digging around and decided to take a chance and got this. Was getting some lipo's for my kids buggy. I have a couple Turnigy chargers for the 2S Lipos, and they are great.

I just plan on replacing the wiring\plug with better materials.

Looks like that will handle your charging chores. Thats the same price as teh Accucel-8 and has 30% more output power. Reading the reviews, if yours isn't DOA, you should be good.

Let us know what you think about it and what its like to operate.

I have 2 of those. They are great for However they have a 50W max output.

take 50W / 3.7 (volts) x cell count

50/14.8 = 3.3A charge rate at best.

I can get a really good price on one, but I think I would rather have 2 desperate chargers for if\when it goes up in smoke, I'm not completely SOL.

I am liking my Thunder Power TP-601C. Myself and 5 other friends are running the charger without a problem for 1 year so far and still going. All are paired up with a OFNA 10 amp power supply.

Did you mean TP-610C? It looks to be a 80W charger, and I needed a little more current than that....
