Default budget servo choices

Hello,
I have been racing 10th scale off road for a long time now and have always ran the fastest servos money can buy. I have primarily ran the airtronic's line and have no complaints with their durability and performance. I am now building a few vintage runners and some bashers and will need 3-5 servos. I really don't see the need to put in $100-150 servos in these projects but I would like to put in a nice servo for when they do hit the track ( I am a pretty good driver and will notice the speed and torque difference ) I have been looking on line for some but there are so many to choose from. I would really like to hear some feedback BASED ON EXPERIENCE on the other servo mfg's out there. A purchase price of $50-85 is where I am trying to keep it. Any advice or feed back is welcome.

Futaba 9452 and/or 9551. At tower hobbies, these are $85/ea but you can get a few dollars off when buying more than one at a time. Also, Tower has coupons for discounts depending on the dollar amount of your order.

I always loved the Futabas, I recently tried a Hitec 5645mg. It has been great for the price. $55 and it has pretty good specs.

Keeps your eyes out on the trading forums and ebay! I see many Airtronics high speed/high torque $100 used servos going for $20-$30 all the time!

Default Cheap

Look on ebay for the Futaba 3152 digitals. You can get 4 for about 80 bucks.

I like the Hitec 625/645mg. I got them new for $30 from my local shop and they are great little servos. They are a little slow, but have massive amounts of torque.

I have used the hitec MG645 in my son's cars and have been very impressed with their durability. He crunched several others before I bought that one. They are way too slow for me though. I picked a few up on the for sale posts here but not the exact things I need. Does Orion still market their servo's?

The Bluebird 617 is a great servo, BUT it needs a lot of amperage to be happy.
A 1amp BEC won't do it, a 3amp seems fine.

After shipping I think it comes out to $25 each...

Here is one I've been looking to try in the future.

If you have an account & "log in" the price drops quite a bit some times.
