I like this feature. Almost enough for me to buy.

does that mean the booster is built in? or do you still need to run a boost or rx pack?

The only Novak controller that offers our built-in SmartBoost circuitry is the Havoc 1S. The Kinetic esc is designed to work well on low voltage---1S or 4 NiMH---but does not contain our booster circuitry (or 1S cut-off) sometimes needed for other items in your set-up.

Many existing receivers and servos were not designed to operate on such low voltage. In those situations you would need a SmartBoost or receiver pack.

The GTB is NOT an intelligent piece of electronics...
I melted down one GTB from a sensor cocked slightly & pulled the trigger on the work bench.
Out of warranty thank you.

I also have a really nice sensor lead with a bad blue & orange (new out of the package, Novak #s5355) ... The GTB will initialize & try it's darnedest to cog the motor up to speed.

Only when the sensor is completely unhooked does it seem to know better.

I hope the new speed con. has a better fail safe.
And I hope QC has gone up too.

I will have to check out the esc more. Novaks have always been reliable for me just hated the programming.

I'm very curious to see one in person let alone purchase one. I've ran mostly Novak speedos & receivers in my rc cars for the most part the last 20+ years of racing. I need another brushless speedo for one of my cars so I think I'll get one as soon as there avalible & the RT5 will get the new Novak speedo & transfer the GTB to the SCT. & the link kit will be great since I take my laptop with me all the time to the track anyhow. the greatest part about Novak is there service being right here in the USA you can usually have your motor, speedo, receiver back within a week & not have to have it sent to some foreign country to be serviced. I have great respect for that & to me thats one on the best selling points about them & there products.

Does Novak plan on releasing a version of the Kinetic with a voltage booster built in? Seems like a waste to by the Havok 1S with this new speedo out.

Shawn,.

Shawn,.
We will look at the possibility of customizing the Kinetic for single cell operation, but the additional circuitry may not fit in the package.

The Havoc 1S system sells for about $159.99 and is geared more for entry-level racing to encourage more participation at an affordable price.

Shawn,.
I thought that 2s Rx packs and cutting the Esc's red wire was the hot ticket for 1/12th scale anyway? I've got some tiny 600 mah Lipos. I'm trying to avoid voltage regulators and boosters, don't trust them, another source of glitches.

Anyways,

The dynamic timing sounds like a nice feature to have for those of us running 17.5 spec classes.

On your flier for the Kinetic, your chart at the end for part number and color are reversed.. So part numbers say "Black" and colors say "Part Numbers".

You should fix that.
