Bad luck from Novak 2

I have used novak speedos for the past 9 years, having 2 fry just recently in the past 1 month. I have an explorer 2, super rooster, and atom that have been working for the since day one and been abused to no end.
I had a GTB that worked for the past 2 years perfectly with a 13.5 and 17.5 novak motors that got hit on the track by an 1/8th buggy. The hit drove all three motor wires into each other and shorted. Not something that was novaks fault, it would have happened to any speedo.
The second was a GTS, got it from a friend that had it for a few weeks before he got brushless. I got it from him and used it for a few weeks then just plugged in a battery, the wires started to get hot. Smoke started to come out, then I unplugged it and replaced it with an old LRP Q2 that I had laying around. I never abused it, and the person that I got it from kept in better then new condition. Just one of those thing that happens.
