i bought this team orion advantige charger and when i charge batteries the amps are all over the map please help

Sorry, but your descrption of problem doesn't help anyone figure out what may be going on.

What batteries? What type, voltage, cell count, etc? How are you setting them up? What do you mean by "the amps are all over the map"?

i mean when i set the amps to lets say 6.0 amps it reads 12.5 to 1.7 and everywhere imbeetween

If the heat sink inside the case moves around and is not mounted firm, look for a broken connection on one of the mosfets mounted on the heat sink....

Hope you bought it new, it needs to be returned, it has a serious prob. You need to talk to the place where you bought it.
