Bad?? They def are puffed however. I'd be contacting SMC (I believe I can see that they're SMC). SMC's been replacing some of them epending on when they were bought and on others replacing them at 50% of orig price. This was discussed in the elec offroad thread, but I can't seem to find it.

They seem to be ok to run, but puffing will get worse.

I was afraid of that. I got two different onions of them in the pits today. I'll call SMC in the morning. Thanks.

Had that happen to me, with the same LiPo. And from what I've heard SMC had a bad batch of batteries. The good thing is... SMC has top notch cusomer service, so you should be able to get them replaced. Just send Danny an e-mail with that picture and a brife explanation.

Well they are only going to warranty the 6000.

I'm a little upset about it, but w/e really. Does anyone know of another company that stands behind their product a little better? I'm probably going to just sell the pack when I get it and sell the other SMC pack that I still have.

SMC sure had the best reputation in lipo for a while, but it seems many folks are unhappy lately. The fact that they are not on here anymore just makes it worse in my opinion.
Lots of people seem to be happy with the Orion packs around here, but of course price is steep on those.

Myself I like the Hobbycity Lipos. I dont even worry about customer service because they are so cheap if I have to buy another I still save money. I have not had to buy another, out of the 12 packs I have of various sizes they all perform as well or better than my Reedy and SMC packs. I think there is a good reason they are gaining a big following. But, some guys want the good customer service of a bigger company and thats totally understandable.

they will warranty the 6000's no matter when you bought them and they will warranty (free replacement) the 40c 5200 bought after May 28. If bought before that, new batteries for half price. I just got new 50c replacements for my 2 40c packs that puffed.

SMC is a great company, they had a bad batch of cells and are standing behind them. This type of thing could happen to any company

They offered me a 50c pack for 110. He said that was the closest to the 40c he had. I just can't spend that much on another SMC pack and end up having to do it again a few months later. I ended up just buying a 1cell pack for 60 shipped. Hardly a discount, but I save on tax so it is a little better. They also charged me 3% credit fee. wtf?!?

Was my 40c a bad batch? Why should I have to pay anything to have it replaced?

I got some Tenergy packs from LHS. I had 2 SMC packs, I got one in January and the other in March. I club race 2 times a month, running a 10.5. Both puffed up. One was a 4000 28c and the other a 40c 3200. All I got was a 50% trade in deal. Now they did replace the 4000 with a 4500, but every pack I have bought of theres has puffed. I just don't trust them. So I sold to my LHS for store credit. I have been hearing too many stories of packs puffing. Look in the SMC forums or google "SMC Puff packs" you see its happening a lot.

I don't know. I bought it around May. It might have been June. I really forgot. He told me they warranty their packs for 3 months.

His first response to me was it was my fault. He said since I had two go bad at the same time, it was something I did.
