Default Castle Motor clicking

I bought a CC sidewinder 5700kv motor/speedo combo about 4 months back. When i turn the motor shaft when its out of my truck theres a slight click once per revolution. Any idea what it is? i have ran it in sand, and ive been running in my slash with a 2S lipo if that helps. Maybe gotten just barely over 200 once, otherwise the highest it gets is about 170-180

Sounds like a bad bearing, but its hard to say without having it in hand. Shoot Joe Ford an email, they are really good about taking care of their customers.

If you know what you are doing and you take your time it can be done. I have removed mine before for cleaning. I have been doing RC for many years, I am a certified auto mechanic by trade, and I had to really work to get mine apart without damaging it. I have heard of others that did it with no problems. The issue I ran into is that along with screws holding the endbells on there is glue. I ended up heating the motor to get one end apart, the other end came apart easily.
Im sure others will respond soon that have successfully removed or replaced the bearings.

I don't own any CC motors but have also heard it can be done but it's not fun. It's odd they didn't make their motors as user friendly as other companies.
