Perhaps start by going through the menus, everything is fairly straightforward, get comfortable with the roller/menu function. Add your name, name your models.
If you have all digital servos try turning the Frame Rate down to 5.5ms for the faster response. If servo is erratic turn it back to 11. (insert Spinal Tap joke here, lol)
Set the servos up. Start by making sure the servo horn on the car is centered as much as practical with the radio on, then use Sub Trim to get it closer, then set Travel (some call EPA), avoiding over travel/binding. Note you can set both directions together, or move the wheel and trigger to set one direction at a time.
If it’s an electric model reset the speed control.
Once going adjust the brakes to suit your driving preference & available traction. Trim for final steering center adjustment. Repeat both as needed.
Don’t fold or crimp the exposed end portion of the receiver wire. Generally doesn’t need to stick up, I just heat gun and bend the antenna tube back and under the body.
Learn how to bind to the receiver using the bind plug, even though I think it comes set up with the included receiver.
Plenty of other features, but this should give you a good start. Unless you need servo mixing for some reason, or want to use exponential, reassign the buttons, use the timer, etc. Most important of all, Enjoy!

Unlike the instruction manuals that come with most of the other high end radios, this one is very short and has lots of pictures. You will get thru the manual very quickly and easily. I have owned the airtronics m8, m11 and the KO helios and the DX3R is probably the easist and most intuitive of all of them (the airtronics are pretty easy as well)

Agree, but I don’t think the manuals I’ve seen are all that good at explaining what order to do the set up in. They don’t seem to explain the subtle difference between sub trim and regular trim, how they do & don’t impact servo travels/endpoints. Usually sub trim comes after travel, which is backwards in terms of correct set up order.
