Default Battery Help

Hi I'm looking for some help with my first RC Car in regards to batteries. I have a Team Associated SC-10 electric truck and currently I'm using some used batteries that say "DYNA-FUN 1500, 1500mAh 6-cell Ni-Cd pack" and I'm using a MEGA 2 charger. Can anyone give me direction on a decent battery system and charger that will work for this car and will last more than 5 minutes, without breaking my 13 year old allowance and budget! Thank you.

Try these. Hard to beat for the money. Ignore the first one on the list.

For a charger, keep an eye out for a good peak charger in the for sale thread. Lots of people selling older high end equipment for cheap.

^^^ Those are the same pacs I'd recommend too. They might be a little more expensive than some others out there, but they will be better value for your money in giving you more run time and longer life.

A decent charger is something you just gotta have if you want to treat your batts right. You need a peak style charger so the batts are charged to max capacity every time. Onyx 200 AC/DC charger would be a good choice.

Shop around for what's in your budget, the listing in the above post is gonna be a tough deal to beat. Just make sure you get a charger that is designed for peaking NIMH packs as they are different than the NICD's you have now.
NICD's are old technology and anything you find now that's worth spending money on is going to be NIMH.

go to Tower's web site and you can get an idea of what a charger is going to cost ya.
