Default Spektrum Rx or servo problems?

hi guys,

just checking if any 1 had encounter this problems before.

i was using a spektrum pro Rx sr3001(on Futaba 3pks in PPM mode) with futaba 3003 servo on my mo3

its use to be ok no problem, but lately, i notice the the servo was unable to get back to its center position, it will take some time to get back like 2 - 3 seconds. which means 1 lap you can get a straight line , 2nd lap you wont get straight line...or if you hit something, it wont be straight, until if you off and on the esc...

i have cross check with other 3 servo (3003) same problem, but if use KO propo servo, the servo will work fine....

i even tested with other spektrum Rx, same problem with futaba servo but no problem with KO servos...

was wondering if the speed controller will have effect on the servos??

Try a different servo saver. The stock one on the M03 is very weak. Lots of people at my track run the Kimbrough 201 servo saver. If that doesnt help, its most likely the servo, 3003's are cheapo standard servos. Back when I had a cooper I ran a futaba 3010 w/ no problems

Yeah, try a different servo saver. When you used a Futaba servo, you were still using the same Futaba servo saver adapter when you tried all the other 3003 servos right? But when you switch to KO, you use a different servo saver adapter correct? So, your servo saver adapter might be worn out. Buy a new servo saver adapter part #51000 for Tamiya? (not sure if the M03 uses same set as Touring cars.)

The 3003 are analog, is the KO analog or digital? Maybe the 3003 can not handle it? I know in some modes, you cannot use analog servo's with Spektrum. I think it's mainly HRS and 5.5m/s modes. Not too sure about others.

i am using Spektrum with PPM on my 3pkS...3003 servos....for 1 year i had no problems...until recently....

when use ko servo, i also tried with normal chaep ko servo and ko digital servo...both ok...

so i am suspecting the esc may give problem or wire......will try tonight

Edwin,
Try different esc. I may have experience the same issue as you. My Futaba S9550 was having really slow reaction when centering and it also judders.

My setup is similar to yours also: 3PK with spektrum rx.

I have tried different configurations of RXs, ESCs and servos and nail the cause down to ESC. You may wanna try this method.

good luck
