Default spektrum antenna height

running a losi 2.0 with a spektrum DX3R....i know that the "exposes" end of the antenna lead is supposed to be contaned inside of an antenna tube but, kinda confused in connection with how much antenna height is acceptable. i race with the losi and i dont want to compromise receiver reception. and, if the entire length of antenna wire does not have to be run vertically, in the antenna tube, what do you do with any remaining length of coax between the receiver and where it goes into the antenna tube..????
