Default GTB 4.5 or LRP 4.5

Im torn between these 2 brushless systems. Which do you think is best for street drag racing considering also the runtime, durability and reliability.

Thanks.

Are you talking about brushless motors? I'd get the Novak 4.5R but run it with the LRP TC Spec. The LRP TC spec speed control has sort of a Turbo when you hold the break for 5 seconds before the tone.

Yes I know about its Launch Control feature.

Unfortunately I can only afford a combo... either the LRP Sphere with 4.5 Vector or the GTB with the 4.5R.

With these hot motors how much runtime should I be expecting with a GP3000 or 3700 batts? I wont be running it on a race track, just speed runs in the streets.

Considering that Tim Smith holds the scale speed record with a GTB and 3.5R motor I'd go for the Novak, since I've heard bad things about the LRP motors.

Although the Sphere is one sexy ESC.

You hold down the brake for about 5 seconds before the sound of the tone. Once you hear the tone, let her rip! It will give you a boost like when playing Nintendo's Mario Kart. I race off-road but but I don't think that feature is as noticeable because of the loose slippery surface I run on.

The best combo is the LRP Sphere TC Spec with a Novak brushless motor but if you had to make an investment get the LRP. I notice the profile changes and once you program it a few times it is pretty easy. With the GTB I don't notice the profile changes but it is a good first ESC for me.

Down the road I want to try the new KO BMC but it is on the pricey side.

This has actually been a feature in LRP Brushed ESCs for years. Usefull, but the difference in off the line acceleration is barely noticeable to be honest.

Default drag

I would go for the Speedpassion GT or the tekin rs pro with the novak motor with the 13 mm rotor.

Just bought the Sphere and 4.5 combo. Im slightly disappointed to find out
that the rotor is hard to turn compared to my Novak EX Motors that turns
ever so easily and smoothly. The Vector feels like a brushed motor.
Gonna do the wiring tonight.

Now how can I bring out the real power of the Sphere and Vector motor
if Ill just be powering it up with NiMH batteries? Will I see its real
power just by using a GP3000, GP3300 or GP3700?

I know LiPo is the way to go but I can only access sub-c batts for now.

And how much run time will I be expecting with this set up?

Thanks again ü

Maybe 5 mins run time! Any thing under 4200 nimh is useless today
