There's a bunch of them, you looking for AC/DC or just DC. The ICE is a great DC charger right in that range and I think the new Duratrax Onyx chargers are making people pretty happy. The 230 model is AC/DC for $80-90 and has variable charge rates (0-7A I think), etc. I'm actually getting one myself to try out.

But there are tons of good chargers in that price range, you just have to look at the specs and find one that fits your needs. Hyperion, Venom, Losi, Orion all have some nice looking chargers. Just make sure you check the specs for number of cells and charge rates if you need to charge higher than 5A or more than 2-3 cell LiPos.

You should have caught my for sale list last week, I let a really nice CheckPoint go for $110. I have a CE Turbo 35 w/LiPo update for a bench charger, so I don't need to carry around chargers with all that functionality in my pit bag. If you will buy used, you can find some nice chargers in the $120 range that cost a lot more than that new.

Good Luck!

I'm using the Thunder Power 610... it does 1 to 6 cell LiPO packs, can go up to ten amps, and balances while charging. I got it for $129.99 and I'm completely satisfied so far.

I have also had good luck with the Turnigy Accucell. Only used it so far with my little heli batteries but it seems to work well. Note that it is only 50 watts. You can get 150-200 watt DC chargers under the Turnigy and GT-Power brand at hobbycity.com for ~$80 + shipping.

As long as it can charge LiPo at 5A, that's my main concern. I have a Triton now and only goes to 2.5A

Prob with the Ice (I still use mine) is it has no built in balancer - not a prob, but its going to cost more to buy separate balancer. Maybe I'm overly cautious, but I balance my lipos every time I charge them, the reason I bought a balancing charger.

I am also looking for a balancing charger. I have a triton which has a max of 2.5Amp and I am using 3200mah batteries. I know there isn't much of a differance between 3.2A and 2.5A, but sometimes the more rapid charge is needed.

I fly airplanes and they all use those white balancing plugs (type depends on brand of battery), but the Trakpower batteries I bought for my Slash have a small rod type plug for balancing. I need a balance charger that will work with with those.

I am leaning toward the Hyperion EOS0606i, but I haven't really found a lot of other choices. I can also buy adapters for the hyperion which will allow me to balance charge my airplane batteries. This would mean that I could use it for both and get rid of the other charges that I don't need.

I am also looking for a balance charger so that I don't have to mess with a seperate balancer.

thanks,
tim

Just want to find one that will work for these batteries. I will look into the Ice. Has anyone ever used the Triton 2 by electrifly?

TP-610C.

I love it.

The LOS5000 (Losi LiPo) is junk. It smoked on the fifth charge.

Just got the Venom Pro, and it works great. 5A is all I need to charge my car batts at 1C. I'm also using the ICE for the gruntwork (Charging NiMH at 6A, Lipo at 2C), and it saves me from buying a balancer. Plus I can now charge my Gel cells with better accuracy than my current automotive charger.

I'm pretty sure just it's a clone of the Bantam BC6 charger (without the AC bit), but I also have the peace of mind that support is in the US, unlike these "Mystery" chargers for $50 on eBay.. the name says it all
