Default No Frills Lipo charger for 5000Mah batteries?

I have a Triton (1st edition) but it only goes up to 2.5A....I'm assuming here that this would take just about 2 hours to charge a 5000Mah battery.

I'd like to get something to balance charge at a full 5A, but not break over the 99$ spending limit.

I guess if I could charge a battery first 1 cell then the other in the pack, this works for me too.....as long as it's an ok method.

For DC only chargers that should be pretty easy. I believe there is a Hyperion 0606i-DC that does up to 6A or 50watts (whichever comes first). It's the same charger as the ever so popular 0606i, without the built in power supply.

You may need to get the proper balance taps depending on what batteries you use, but they are realatively inexpensive...

Thats a sweet charger and there only around $100. With the balancer built in thats one less thing you have to buy and you get the voltage on each cell on the screen.

turnigy accucell 6 available at hobbycity.com 39.99

this is my favorite charger i have now.
they also have power supplies for 39.99 also.

i have an orion charger that charges lipos that was 140.00 and this one blows it away it also balances and charges every battery i own.

the only downfall is that it is limited to 5 amps output ,but for what your looking for it is perfect.

i think it might be the same charger as the one pictured above with a different name.

I saw a reference to the turnigy accucell 6 but I could not find it. Are they pretty good? I've ordered from hobbycity.com before, but before they changed the name......

For $75 you can get the Triton Jr. which is a DC charger and will charge up to 5A. For $80 you can get the Duratrax Onyx 230 AC/DC charger that will charge up to 7A.

Ok...that Duratrax Onyx 230 looks good, as I would not have to lug my Radio shack power supply to the track after I got a 2nd one down the line.

That Onyx would need a separate balancer and the turnigy would need a dc power supply. I would rather have the tunrnigy since its a balancingvcharger to begin with - power supply is pretty straight forward, get something that's higher than the charger - a 10a supply should be plenty, a 5a PS will not be enough to let you charge at 5amps - there is some inefficency. The 16a supply they show would def run the charger at 5a without any probs.

In case you didn't notice, the Onyx comes with only a tamiya power lead (they call it standard adapter) - you have to purchase others you will need separately. This is like the Ice charger. Then you'll need the separate balancer and everything to connect it.

The turnigy is a better deal and will be less complicated to use.

I guess it's back to a couple turnegy's then....I have 2 10A Radio shack power supplies, so covered in that department......

Those 10a supplies would do a great job on a 7a charger. Sounds like you're set.
