Not at all. The instructions on Hyperion's site are straight forward and pretty close to what really happens at the PC. If you're going to the latest, v1.6, make sure to get the v1.5 instructions - they have the detail on installing the driver to run the USB adapter. See the hyperion firmware, software and connectivity page - it is also where EOS view software is located.

There are two pieces needed - like it says here, this adapter harness and the
USB to serial adapter. This is where I got mine as well as the charger and the balance adapters to let me do all my lipos.

If you have the GFX why not just use it???? Just get the equinox balancer (which Danny reccomends) and call it a day. I use the GFX and ice for my lipo needs. The GFX is big and bulky yes but it's loaded with usable features. Danny does suggest chargers with built it balancers but if you already have the grand daddy of chargers then why down grade.....

Possible to damage something internal to the charger, this changed with v1.6 firmware. You're also supposed to connect them is certain sequence (main power 1st, then balance conn). I've done it right about 98% of the time and was having a prob getting a 3300 3s Protek tx batt to charge and connected it out of order - nothing happened. If you read the 1.6 instructions, I think it says you can do damage, not that you will.

My prob was the charge leads I was trying to use - too much resistance. Made another charge lead up based on 14ga wire - everything fine now.

These use the lba10 balancer internally - which is the same as equinox - a rebadged lba10 balancer.

Yeah, sounds like it. Thanks for the explanation Duster. Here's the update write-up.

And thanks for the setup sheet.

Been using the Hyperion Dup for about 2 months now and it is one of the best chargers I have ever used. Being able to charge lipo and NIMH at the same time at high rates is great. It is a very versatile charger. Are shop has sold a ton of Hyperion chargers over the last year with zero problems.

These chargers remind me of the quality I get when I by Competition Electronics products. You get what you pay for and the customer gets a great charger that is reliable.

Hyperion also needs to provide longer charging/balancing leads so we can get the pack(s) correctly into a Lipo Bag while charging.

When charging two SMC packs at the same time, the adaptor boards get in the way of me fully closing my Lipo Sack.

Well, I guess you need yet another adapter to hook up your PC. You need #HP-EOSPCCBL. That equals three adapters = HP-EOSPCCBL to Titan ESC adapter (pictured in between USB and Emeter adapter) to USB cable.

#HP-TI-PRGUSB

#HP-EOSPCCBL
