Default LRP Sphere Comp

Anyone have experience running with Orion Vortex / Peak Vantage motors? Any issues?

Really smooth although noisy. I have 2. Novak 10.5 makes more power then the orion 10.5 though and is quieter. The peak 7.5 in my lazer zx-5 sp has some serious rip though.

The LRP/Orion combination is great, its all I run. The speedos are easily adjusted and the motors rip.

Yes that´s correct.
The Sphere is very good running the Vortex motors. Actually these are the same Feigao base as the GM and Speedpassion motors.
If you´re running hot motors it´s a good idea reducing the timing on the motor as LRP is using a high timing in their software.

I am on my second Sphere, have not had time to return the first. Same problem with both. Doesn't matter what motor I use, it does the same (different sensor cables, too.).

Get a good run going, tap a board pretty hard and the car staggers off on it's own with no control, slowly. Pick up the car and the speed controller does this pause accelerate pause accelerate repetition increasing in speed. It's evil sounding, too. Like it needs an exorcist.

4 cell 12th scale, motors used: Orion 10.5, Novak 17.5, Novak 13.5... LRP (1) was used with amb, KO 302f, JR3550. LRP (2) amb, KO (2.4ghz), JR3550.

Has anyone dealt with this before? Cycling the power seems to reset the ESC, however, I will not put up with this crap at the IIC when it counts.

Talked to them about the first one at the nats. IMO the person that I talked to was ..., unlike Novak that would do an exchange on site, he looked at me and said that they didn't bring enough for the team TO THE FIRST BRUSHLESS NATS, nevermind helping their customers. When I contacted them at AE, they said that I have to send it in and had no questions or suggestions over the phone.

I don't mind sending it in, but was looking for another answer, since this next one, which is new (5 weeks ago, pulled out 4 weeks ago, raced 2 times in 17.5), is doing the exact same thing.

I will be pulling the amb transponder next run to trouble shoot, along with changing the servo the run after that... Those are the only two components that are the same since getting this problem to crop up.

Just wondering if we can run these ESCs with 16ga wire. I don't think that would be the problem, as it ran 17.5 for about 10 runs with no problems before developing the stutter problem.

One more thing, I cannot run my KO in high frequency mode due to using an analog servo, so, it isn't that...

I got a chance to look at the timing on the Orion and it was slightly retarded... I wouldn't think that this would have been the problem... I will try zero-ing it, then slightly advancing it.

I also have punch turned up to 6, I will half that and try again. Maybe the motor is over timed...?
