The FxRpro is beefy, but not as beefy as a Fxpro. A relaly hot mod motor, 7x1, is pushing it pretty hard and you may have heat issues on the FxRpro.

It takes double the fets in a reversing speedo to have equal power ability and still have twice the resistance. Reversing speedos are and H bridge design and the current must pass thru 2 banks of fets in series. Fwd only speedos are a half bridge and the power goes thru one bank of fets.

Many older reversing speedos do not go full speed for some other technical reasons. In our case there is no difference between the fwd only and fwd/rev versions other than the power handling and on resistance.... I take that back since our Fwd only has our patented fly back circuit that does increase effeciency as well. I must admit I like having a reverse for practicing when there are no marshals.

We are adding the throttle profiles from the Fx to the FxR using the Hotwire. We will be adding the custom curves for profiles pretty soon as well. We do not have many people racing with the Reversing versions, but they have become very popular with the Rock Crawlers and they want the race type adjustments.

I've installed the FxR into my Yokomo drift chassis. Coupled with lipos and a 15x1 outlaw motor I hand built, this thing has so much acceleration and over-the-top power it's just downright scary.

I had a police officer clock it with the drift tires on and his radar was showing 42kph in a straight line.

here's my drift setup:
Drag brake: 2
Reverse/Brake Strength: 7
Current Limiter: off
Push control: 8
Reverse type: 3
Voltage cutoff: 2

Default dioed??

Hi guys... i just bought a FX-pro..

just want to ask u guys is there any need for a dioed for the motor since its a fwd/brk speedo??

might b a dumb question but this is my 1st fwd/brk speedo

my friend was running a hara twister and fried his break function and find out that he need a dioed for the motor to prevent this from happening..

thanks in advance!!

Nice purchase Hadi,

I can confirm no Diodes. The FX will blow it open or melt it off pretty quickly if you put one on. You're good to go!

Correct! We have a patented internal fly back circuit that does a much better job than a external diode, or an internal diode like many controllers have.

My FX currently resides in my RC18MT...

It gives my motor more punch than the stock AE speedo did, and is in a smaller package!

It's easy to program, fun to watch on the indoor track, as I can see the lights get brighter every time I stab the throttle

All in all, I'm very satisfied with it!

Check out the interview we did with Team Tekin Team Manager Randy Pike at R/C Evil Empire!

Check http://www.rcevilempire.com for the full feature.

Heads up!

He explains about the resurgence of Tekin, the hotbox system, and his team manager duties.

Thanks to Randy for all his help, etc.

Would it be possible to use an FX-R in a Race Clod running 2 17t motors on 6 cell Nimh?

Or with 2 Silver Can Johnsons?

ThanX

The regular FX-R is rated for 12 turn motors...

17/2 = 8.5, so it won't like it... It's Tekin, so I have no doubt that it COULD... But you're running beyond the limits of the ESC.

It'll do the silver can motors no problem.

Wait... If you're racing.... Why do you need reverse?
