It arrived today. Very cool, a little smaller than I thought! Also it seems a little darker than the sample photos I've seen.

A few notes:

The trigger deadband is non existent, they squeeze the brake/throttle trigger together and I have to squeeze my fat finger into it.

The menu system is awesome, wheel and clicker. Only complaint is that the System naming and model naming is very annoying. You have to scroll through about 255 characters to find what you want. Gives you a lot of flexibility, but the downside is that there is no 'clear all' option. You have to go through each pre-defined model name and blank it out. A bit annoying.

Wish it had a USB port or something to connect up and program, would have made it super cool.

Here are some quick sample shots I took, I'm going to put together a review and some detailed photos shortly.

The receiver looks like it only has 3 spots for plug-ins from the picture. Does it only have 3? or is there 4? Would be awesome if it had four, i need to get my 2 servos PT and battery in there.

Default DX3R

Picked up one Tuesday. I have it all set ready to go for this weekends racing. Real easy to navigate and change a few things.

So I got mine yesterday and was very happy, I also had a buyer lined up for my DX3 and closed that deal .

But, the steering wheel seems to have more tension turning to the left than it does turning to the right. Any ideas?

I still love it, I haven't read instruction 1, yet I have profiles set up for 3 cars already with names and my user name.

Something I haven't seen mentioned yet was the monitor, which is cool because you can see your inputs. And I think some (oval?) guys will appreciate the exponential being adjustable for left steering or right steering or both.

It's so light!

That plastic box in the charge jack end of the battery bay looks like it comes out, does it?

I cant believe how small and light this radio is...its awesome!

I did do a small modification to the brake arm of the trigger. I shaved some plastic away so the corner of the brake arm would not be pointy against my index fingernail.

I also swapped the functions assigned to button D and E as its more natural for me to adjust Steering Dual Rate with button E as opposed to D.

The calibration features is really nice. Other radios have it but its much easier to get to in the DX3R.

Hey Mac, that one was of the other questions I ask Spektrum. If you can cut the antenna on the SR3100 receiver. But I haven't received a reply yet. I'll post up as soon as they do.

Yeah, the idea of this problem is mainly the manual of dx3r didn't show up like the module's manual, which said could cut until 3.6".
In the case i am looking to buy that 1 on the pics, which is from ABC, i don't think the antenna hide into body will affect the range.
So why we still put out the antenna tube to affect body aerodynamics if it's digital?

I was needing a new radio, Mike Dumas let me borrow his DX3R and I was immediately sold! This thing is SO freakin light it is ridiculous! Very intuitive and priced just right! I went in and bought one from my LHS after using it.

The wheel is identical to what is on the Helios/Z1 so it has a nice feel. I want to put a bigger wheel on it, I wish it was black instead of the the cheap looking gray/silver, but overall I am extremely happy with my purchase.

And as far as the cutting antenna - unfortunately I am pretty sure you cannot with the new Rx - not 100% sure, but it looks like you can't.
