I got to see the DX3R in person this past weekend and it is a very comfortable fit for my hands. I haven't really liked the feel of any radio since the Airtronics Caliber, but this one felt VERY nice right away. I didn't get to drive it, but I'll be likely to grab one when they're available.
The DX3R is/was a big undertaking and it's crucial to get it right before shipping. To the best of my knowledge everything is on track.
I wonder just to notifying us in the beginning of release.
In the case i am totally unpatient to await in this whole time.
Then there's 1 more question which is from my friend, i hope someguy will try to answer:
If Spektrum will release DSM2 pistol grip radio, why didn't release stick radio as well?
There where rumors about a Spektrum surface stick radio awhile ago, but i dont hear anything about that anymore.
Oh, there is it, if they made radios for air, so why didn't do the same for surface?
But i am confident will not be in short moments, in the case nor dx3r is already so they will not touch yet in other kinds, then i will tell it to my pal, thanks.
Dont find any info on backlight screen, is this on the DX3R?
No. Well, mine doesnt at least, i dont know if that will change when the production models come out. But I can imagine that a backlight would be quite a drain on the 4 AA's, just my thoughts...

hmm...can you do me a favor? Can I get a reasonably accurate measurement of the battery compartment? I've been looking at potential lipo conversions and I've found a few close ones. shhhh...don't tell anyone I'd hate to void my warranty when I get one.
whoops

Couple photos from the manual, batt box and a view so you see the trigger.
Dang that's tight in there. I found a couple possibilities that you could fit a 6V regulator in too but just a little on the long side. I wonder what is under the plastic to the left of the batteries...I'll probably get one anyway since I need a good lefty radio.
