nah it was a mamba monster 2650kv combo. i have it set up for speed runs. this speed control is almost 2 years old and it is a v1. no problems up until now. it was geared pretty high but still never cogged until the second before the poof!! the battery and the reciever wire took a hit because they were high enough to get hit with the flames. everything else is mint with the exception of smelling like burned electrical. but i got it pretty much cleaned off. i just got to send out the esc to castle and there gonna send me a new one for $70. great customer service!!

Something you might ask Castle about - they were replacing v1s and v2s with a v3 at no cost. I had them replace a v2 of mine at no cost (other than shipping it to them). Not sure if they're still doing it, but when they made the offer, I wan't aware there was a time limit. Never hurts to ask.
