Maybe the others already know but can you explain the difference between the DSS and the FHSS?
Thanks John Schoenauer
It's just the way the system works. Spektrum uses DSS (direct spread spectrum) basicallly your transmitter and receiver lock on to one frequency and stay there. FHSS (Frequency Hopping spread spektrum uses multiple channels with in the 2.4 GHZ range. Futaba uses FHSS Not sure of the others.
I believe all of them use FHSS except Spektrum. Basically FHSS transmits very small databits on one channel and at the end of the stream it includes info on what the next channel will be for the next data stream so your receiver knows where it needs to be for the next set of data bits. All this happens in fraction of a second. That's the short and dirty. Take a look at spektrum and futaba's site they should break it down a little better

whynot, there is a topic about the EX-1 UR radio Ko EX-1 UR
The EX-1 UR has an upgraded (faster) processer from the Helios.
whynot I think the 2.4 version of both the Helios and the EX-1 UR should be available in the next couple of months. I plan on waiting, I think that having a complete KO system is worth the wait.
